Caucus for Obama on April 14th in Sandpoint!

Idaho’s Democratic Presidential Caucuses will be held in counties around the state on Saturday, April 14th. The Bonner County Democratic Caucus will take place at the Sandpoint Community Hall at 204 S First Avenue in Sandpoint. Doors open at 9:30 am and close promptly at 10 am for caucus start. We will elect 12 delegates (plus alternates) for the Idaho Democratic Convention to be held in Boise on June 8-10, 2012.

What you can expect at the caucus: fill out and sign pledge forms, County Chair’s caucus overview, calling the roll of pledges, vote for delegates, vote count and announcement of delegate names, County Chair’s closing. We will be done no later than noon.

Date: Saturday, April 14, 2012
Time: 9:30-10 am is sign-in. DO NOT BE LATE
10 am: Doors close, caucus begins
Place: Sandpoint Community Hall, 204 S 1st Ave, Sandpoint (link to map above)

Free popcorn at the Bonner County Fair

One of the Bonner County Democrats’ long-standing traditions is providing free popcorn at our annual county fair in August. Please stop by and visit with us in our new location in the southwest corner of the Main Exhibition Hall. We’ll have voter registration cards, party affiliation declaration forms, and information about the new Idaho education laws.

2011 Idaho Redistricting Information

UPDATED 6/15 at 7:56 pm – The census numbers are in, the Redistricting Commission has gone to work, public hearings are set. There is a meeting scheduled in Sandpoint for June 22nd from 2 to 4 pm – Sandpoint High School Auditorium (410 S Division). Later that day, the meeting is in Coeur d’Alene from 7 to 9 pm – North Idaho College, Meyers Health and Sciences Building, Room 106. Pizza & Politics on Fri March 11th in Sandpoint

Democratic legislative leaders will discuss the 2011 Idaho legislative session and answer questions from the public.
Our Democratic Legislators want your input on the important issues facing Idahoans: education, job creation, and our economy to name just a few. Bring your questions, concerns and comments on the topics that matter most to you. The Legislators look forward to meeting and talking with Bonner and Boundary County residents.

We are expecting House Minority Leader John Rusche (Dist 7, Lewiston), Senate Minority Leader Edgar Malepeai (Dist 30, Pocatello), Sen. Dan Schmidt (Dist 6, Moscow), and Rep Sue Chew (Dist 17, Boise).

Potluck desserts and drinks are welcome! Come at 5:30 to help set up, or stay after to help put away the chairs.
